WAYNE McGHIE This Jamaican soul singer moved to Toronto in 1967 and released "Wayne McGhie and the Sounds of Joy" three years later. The album, rescued from obscurity and rereleased by Light in the Attic, has a casual, homemade sound — like lots of the best long-lost albums, this one seems a bit like a happy accident. There are a handful of slow-burning ballads, a self-explanatory instrumental called "Dirty Funk" (which begins with a classic breakbeat), and a gentle, reggae-tinged original called "Cool It."
